Athletes and Chiropractic

With the Winter Olympics just under way, our countries top athletes will compete for 2 straight weeks in various events trying to bring home gold. The Olympian body is like a finely tuned machine and must function at 100% to perform at such a high level. Most of the athletes will be using a secret weapon to help them achieve their goals, chiropractic care. One way that they achieve this is by receiving routine chiropractic adjustments for maintaining such an active lifestyle. Currently there are 5 Chiropractic Physicians on staff in Vancouver helping athletes maintain their bodies, prevent injuries, or treat and overcome injuries.

Olympic athletes are not the only ones that benefit from chiropractic care. NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA, and PGA players and athletes use chiropractic care as well to help stay on top. Many teams have a chiropractor on staff or has one visit their facilities a couple time a week treating the athletes.
Many individuals seek chiropractic care to help prevent or treat injuries ranging from back pain, sprain/strains, shoulder injuries to knee pain. Whether you are a weekend warrior, a marathon runner, golfer, or just looking to get back being active, chiropractic care can be your road map to your destination.

Health and Stress

Stress can play a very big role in determining how healthy we are. With 2010 upon us, we are facing one of the most stressful times this country has seen in the past decade. Stress can effect our health in many ways ranging from weight gain to headaches to muscle tension to more severe conditions such as hypertension(high blood pressure). Being pro active is the best thing that we can do to combat stress. One of the best ways to fight off stress is to have a properly functioning nervous system. We achieve this by receiving routine chiropractic adjustments. Adjusting the spine allows are nerves to communicate clearly with the muscles, cells, and tissue of the body. Also it decreases muscular tension and increases range of motion and vitality. Chiropractic adjustments along with proper exercise and nutrition can not only help us battle stress but also help us lead a healthier life.
